Some more amazing diets for IBS sufferers

Have you been suffering from diarrhoea and are concerned about what foods you can eat? Here are two more daily meal plans that are compatible with IBS

Meal plan 1

Meal plan 2

Breakfast:

-          Cheese omelette

-          Toasted rice bread with butter

Lunch:

-          Greek salad

-          Jacket potato and grated cheese

Dinner:

-          Stuffed Marrow

-          Mixed vegetables

-          Low calorie Jelly

Breakfast:

  • Cornflakes with chopped nuts
  • Dried fruit mixture

Lunch:

  • Chicken drumsticks
  • Green vegetables
  • Rye crackers with butter

Dinner:

  • Baked Haddock with roast potatoes
  • Peas
  • Ginger biscuits

 

Recipes

Recipe: Cheese omelette

Ingredients:

Method:

2 eggs

Olive oil

Grated Cheese

Salt and pepper

-          Pour a thin layer of olive oil onto the base of the pan and gently heat for a few minutes

-          Crack the eggs into a bowel along with some salt and pepper and mix

-          Put the egg mixture into the pan and wait for it to begin firming up

-          When there is only a small amount of raw egg left, spring the cheese over the omelette

 

Recipe: Greek salad

Ingredients:

Method:

5 small tomatoes

1 cucumber, deseeded

½ Red onion

10 Kalamata olives

50g feta cheese

3 tbsp of Greek olive oil

-          Cut the tomatoes into quarters

-          Peel the cucumber and dice into un-even pieces

-          Thinly slice the onion

-          Mix all the ingredients together, sprinkling the olive oil over the bowel as the final step

 

 

 

Recipe: Stuffed marrow

Ingredients:

Method:

1 medium onion

1 garlic clove

180g rice

100g margarine

100g mushrooms

450 ml water

1 tsp dry yeast

1 egg

1.5kg marrow

2 tsp mixed herbs

-          Chop the onion

-          Crush the garlic

-          Chop the mushrooms

-          Beat the egg

-          Pre-heat oven to 180oC (350oF)

 

1)      Fry the onion garlic and rice in 50g of the margarine for a 4-5 minutes

2)      Add the water and mushrooms are wait for all the water to be absorbed

3)      Turn off the heat and add the egg to the mixture

4)      Split the marrow lengthways and remove any seeds

5)      Spread the remaining 50g of margarine (melted) throughout the marrow and add the stuffing

6)      Cook the mixture in the pre-heated oven for 40-45 mins until golden brown

 

Recipe: Ginger biscuits

Ingredients:

Method:

225g plain flower

2 tsp ground ginger

1 medium egg

100g sugar

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

100g vegetable oil

 

If you do not have bicarbonate of soda, you can replace it, and the plain flower, with 225g of self-raising flower.

Pre-heat the oven to 160oC (325oF)

-          Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowel

-          Form the mixture into patties

-          Bake in the oven for 30 mins until golden brown

 

Allow the biscuits to cool prior to being served
