Dr Jeremy Nathan Dr Nathan became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 1994 after graduating from the Northwick Park Hospital General Practice Vocational Training Scheme. He then worked as an NHS General Practitioner in local practices before becoming a partner in a group-teaching practice in Edgware where he worked for 10 years. He is now a part-time GP in a practice in North West London.

After graduation from University College and Middlesex School of Medicine in 1990, Dr Nathan completed pre-registration House Jobs in cardiology, general medicine and care of the elderly, general surgery, urology and orthopaedics. He was awarded the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) in 1992.

Dr Nathan has also been a lecturer, medical student tutor and examiner at UCL Medical School. He was awarded Distinguished Teacher as voted for by the students and has achieved the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), recognised across the Higher Education sector as evidence of expertise and commitment to enhancing and supporting the student learning experience. He has been an individual winner of the UCLMS’ Excellence in Medical Education Awards (EMEA), which recognises exceptional contribution to education in the MBBS programme. He was awarded Membership of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2013.

He was awarded the Diploma in Medical Acupuncture (DipMedAc) by the British Medical Acupuncture Society in 2004. As such, he is recognised by all the major private health insurers, including BUPA, AXAPPP, AVIVA, WPA and Standard Life. He is also an examiner for the BMAS’ Diploma in Medical Acupuncture.

As well as working as a part-time GP he offers acupuncture to the staff at News UK and also runs their Minor Illness Clinic. Additionally, he is a GP Appraiser.

His particular interests include treating musculoskeletal trigger points and the interaction between mental health and the patient’s experience of their medical condition.
